Back in the heyday
of the Diplomacy Postal Hobby, in the 1980’s, Bruce Linsey (with support from
many other hobby members) put together a novice packet which was intended to
introduce the newbie to the hobby, and to provide some direction regarding
strategy, tactics, and the accepted practices found with most zines and
GM’s. Some of the material is quite
dated now, but some of it is still very useful.
Even the old stuff is a fun read for nostalgic enjoyment if nothing
else. Bruce was kind enough to send me a
copy recently, which I scanned. Then
Barry Johnson (hoo-ray Barry!) retyped and reformatted the whole thing in Word,
allowing me to pdf a cleaner, smaller, better version with Adobe bookmarks
included. Enjoy, and maybe you can take
a moment and provide some feedback after you read it!
